ABOUT OUR CLUB
MISSION STATEMENT
Lindfield District Cricket Club (LDCC) is a single club entity which warmly welcomes both Junior and Senior players to play social and competitive cricket.
LDCC exists to foster the game of cricket by:
-
Coordinating cricket events within the North Shore Junior Cricket Association and Shires
-
Providing opportunities for the development and coaching of players
-
Providing, improving and expanding facilities for playing cricket
Our Junior Player Philosophy
Our Player Development program is designed to fulfil the club's philosophy of enjoyment, development and participation, essentially ensuring player skills at all levels are given the opportunity to improve.
This philosophy is why we do not grade players allowing players to play with mates and encourage coaches and managers to give all players a fair go.
Our junior development program starts with our Saturday morning Skills clinic that as been specifically designed at introducing cricket to our 5-6 year olds or new players to the sport. This program has been designed by our professional and experienced coaches and has players coming from outside the area to participate in our program.
As our players grow, we continue the development of skills through our Friday night specialist coaching for our U8 Cricket Blast and U9 players stepping into participation cricket. Here, professional and experienced coaches develop and deliver lesson plans specific to each age group aiming to improve technical skills across the age / division club wide. Support is given to volunteer parent game day coaches to ensure we are all aligned with the continued progression of skills creating a solid platform for players as they continue each season through our juniors program.
Opportunities are given to players filling in for older age teams and trial for North Shore Junior Cricket Association representative teams. Our U16/17 teams train with the Seniors and have the opportunity to play with them in our 5th grade team or in the Shires competition.
